Studio Amphis: Lighting design that transforms the way you experience your home

Most people think lighting is about visibility. At Studio Amphis, our purpose-built space, we start with how a space feels. The way a kitchen transforms from day to night. The softness of a bedroom before sleep. Good lighting doesn’t just help you see your home. It shapes how you experience it.

“We’re not just filling a ceiling with downlights,”  says Amphis lighting designer Eddie Buyukbekir, who leads Studio Amphis consultations. “We’re thinking about atmosphere, emotion and how someone actually wants to experience their home.”

Lighting with intention

Walk through a thoughtfully lit home and the difference is clear straight away. Instead of evenly lighting every surface, each layer of light has a purpose. Artwork is highlighted, shelves softly glow. Bedrooms feel calm, not overlit.

“The homes that feel high-end aren’t always brighter,” Eddie explains. “They’re more considered.” That’s the difference Studio Amphis is designed to deliver. Lighting that feels elevated, considered and natural.

As Amphis's lead lighting designer, Eddie guides clients through their consultation at Studio Amphis.

The consultation experience

For many clients, Studio Amphis is the first time they’ve experienced lighting in a real, hands-on way. What starts as a technical appointment quickly becomes a guided experience. Clients walk through real lighting applications. They see how different light, not just the fitting, shapes a space. They begin noticing shadows, warmth and contrast in ways they never have before.

“A lot of people are surprised by how detailed lighting design actually is,” Eddie says. “But once they understand it, they get excited because they realise they’re creating something unique for their home.”

The best lighting consultations aren’t just transactional, they’re conversations. Eddie will guide you through decisions, rather than simply processing selections. You'll discuss your lifestyle, routines and priorities, like how you use your kitchen, how you unwind and how you want your home to feel at night. This collaborative process is central to the Studio Amphis approach.

Designed around real living

The best lighting plans don’t start with fittings. They start with people. Eddie often encourages clients to think about what isn’t working in their current home, such as harsh bathrooms, dark kitchens or living rooms that feel flat with the ‘big’ lights on. This is where a considered lighting plan makes the difference.

Whether you’re building, renovating or refining a single space, Studio Amphis helps create lighting that feels deeply connected to the way you live. We work closely with our clients to simplify the process and create lighting plans that  feel considered, practical and personal.
